Changelog

v2.1.5 — in review

  • Rating prompt: A one-time, dismissible prompt asking for a Chrome Web Store review, shown only after five successful saves.

v2.1.4 — 27 July 2026

  • 36 languages: The store listing and extension name are now localised across 36 locales, including Russian, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish, German, Turkish and Indonesian.
  • Upgrade flow fix: “Try Pro” now leads to the plans after signing in, instead of ending at the sign-in sheet.

v2.1.3 — 20 July 2026

  • No more signup wall: The free tier is now 5 downloads a day for everyone, with no account and no card required. The previous two-downloads-then-sign-in gate is gone entirely.
  • Card checkout: Real payment links for Monthly, Quarterly and Annual plans.

v2.1.2 — 18 July 2026

  • Hardened licence activation: Licence keys are now validated server-side, with device binding and per-plan device limits enforced on activation.

v2.1.0 — 11 July 2026

  • Google sign-in: One-click sign-in with Google, alongside the existing magic-link option.
  • Telegram Stars: Pay from inside Telegram with Stars — no card needed.
  • Icons: Redrawn at all sizes so the extension renders correctly in the toolbar.

v2.0.0 — 26 May 2026

  • Manifest v3: Full migration to Chrome Extension Manifest v3.
  • New auth: Magic-link authentication replaces old session system.
  • Pro licensing: Subscription tiers (Monthly, Quarterly, Annual) via our merchant-of-record partner.
  • Device management: Each installation gets a unique device ID; limits enforce per-plan device count.
  • License keys: Support for license-key activation in popup.
  • Redesigned UI: New activation sheet, sidebar redesign, pricing pages.
  • Heartbeat licensing: Background service worker syncs license status weekly.

v1.x — Earlier

Previous versions used legacy session-based auth and Manifest v2. Full migration to v2.0.0 recommended.

Known issues

  • Telegram web changes: Telegram ships changes to its web app without notice. When something significant changes, downloads can fail until we push an update — usually quickly, since we test against the live site.
  • Desktop only: Chrome on Android and iOS has no extension system at all, so there is no mobile version and cannot be one. On a phone, use Telegram's own Save to Gallery.
  • Content protection: Channels with “Restrict saving content” enabled cannot be saved from, by us or by anything else. That is enforced by Telegram and we do not attempt to work around it.

Roadmap

  • Firefox support.
  • Localised in-app interface (the store listing is already translated into 36 languages).
  • Improved video quality selection during batch downloads.
  • Extended format support (e.g., document conversion).
  • Team / shared account licensing.
